What does "Gamall Steinn" mean?
In Icelandic Gamall means "Old" and Steinn means
"Stone". So Gamall Steinn translates into "Old
Stone".
Why "Old Stone Hearth" ?
We live near the base of Stone Mountain in Georgia. The
veins of granite from Stone Mountain run for hundreds of miles in
all directions. Our small Hearth alter is made from a river stone
found locally and is part of the Stone Mountain vein.
So what do you mean by a "Hearth"?
To us a Hearth translates into a Household (and its members)
that are dedicated to the Gods of the ancient Germanic, Anglo-Saxon,
or Norse pre-christian cultures.
