The Pattern of Wyrd and Orlog

.

I don't believe that in Wyrd or Orlag there is the concept of "destiny". The three Norns translate into "What has become", "What is becoming", & "What should become". In the area of "what should become" the future is not set until you reach that point in time. There are probable futures but they are not set in stone and your choices up to that point will decide "what is becoming" & "what has become".

One of the best descriptions I have seen of the Norse concept is a woven tartan. The past pattern is set from your relatives before you. Where you start the tartan pattern changes as the choices you make effect the weave. And your pattern is added to the weave which is then handed off to your children, thus continuing the weave.
